Job Description

Position Overview  

Join us at Torch Technologies, a forefront innovator in tech solutions, as a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students eager to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting. You will gain hands-on experience in software engineering, working alongside experienced engineers on impactful projects.

Learning Opportunities 

• Work with industry-standard tools and technologies.
• Enhance problem-solving and collaborative coding skills in a professional setting.
• Gain experience in software architecture and software development on a Major Defense Acquisition Program for the U.S. Army.
• Explore innovative approaches in software development.
• Contribute to real-world research and development projects involving advanced technologies.

Duration and Location 

• This is a summer internship, lasting 12 weeks. 
• Huntsville, Alabama 

Key Responsibilities  

During your internship, you may… 

• Document processes and improvements.
• Present research and findings in team meetings.
• Assist in research and development of data encryption techniques. 
• Contribute to software prototyping and system architecture projects. 
• Engage in modeling and simulation tasks for various tech solutions. 
• Collaborate with teams to address complex computational problems. 
• Document and present your research and findings in team meetings. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications 

• Currently enrolled at an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another STEM field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C , etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic work setting.
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software development principles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret level security clearance. 

Preferred Qualifications  

• Active secret security clearance. 

Requirements 

• US Citizen. 
• At least 18 years old. 
• Actively enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited educational institution. 
• In good academic standing with a grade point average of 3.0. 
• Commitment to a full-time schedule during the internship period.
