Full Job Description: Barista
Elevate your brew and join our team at torotea, a tea shop dedicated to bringing our unique selection of handcrafted drinks with top notch service to our community! We’re on the lookout for passionate and enthusiastic baristas to help us create and share memorable experiences for our guests. A barista’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the careful crafting of our beverages, preparation of ingredients, providing great guest service, and solid communication skills to work cohesively with our team.
Responsibilities:
- Create beverages focusing on Quality, Consistency, Cleanliness, and Speed.
- Follow recipes to prepare various ingredients and toppings.
- Utilize the POS system and provide accurate inputs every single time.
- Integrity in POS operations.
- Engage with guests in a professional and welcoming manner in all interactions.
- Actively seek to resolve and guest issues or concerns.
- Communicate and work effectively within a team environment.
- Ask questions and provide feedback in a timely manner.
- Seek active clarity and understanding in any conflict, avoid gossip, ask for assistance from management to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
- Follow direction as given from management/ownership.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment focused on details.
- Perform opening and closing duties.
- Actively participate and assist in training new and returning team members.
- Adopt new procedures and tools introduced to the business.
- Follow relevant food and safety guidelines.
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
- Follow any and all safety procedures and policies.
- Timely responses to inquiries verbally or in writing.
Qualifications:
- While no previous barista experience is required, prior retail or food service experience is preferred.
- Have a passion for tea, specialty beverages, guest service, and a strong desire to learn.
- Understanding that feedback and critiques are critical to improvement for all roles.
- Ability to stay positive and professional under pressure.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications
- Current Food Handlers Card
- Completion of State mandated sexual harassment training
