What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Vocational Nurse position at Torrance Unified School District?
Under direct supervision of a certificated administrator and District Nurse, perform required duties as outlined in the Individual Health Services Plan (IHSP) for the student(s), such as monitoring seizures, administering injections as appropriate, assisting with student's personal hygiene, and providing instructional assistance as stipulated; provide first aid and emergency health assistance to students; perform a variety of clerical work in updating and maintaining student health records, assist in the daily operation of the school health office, and do related work as required. SELECTION PROCEDURE:
This is an OPEN recruitment to establish an eligibility list, fill vacancies and hire substitutes. Substitutes work on an as-needed basis to fill in for absent employees. The eligibility list will be used to fill permanent vacancies which may occur during the life of the eligibility list.
Positions in this classification are part-time (30-35 hours per week), 10 months per year, 205 days.
The recruitment process will consist of a written examination and an oral technical interview. Testing may occur on a weekly basis. Qualified applicants will be notified by US mail or email.
