Position Overview
The Market Hog Selector’s primary responsibility is to identify and select the correct hogs for market. After 90 days, the Market Hog Selector will work independently with little supervision.

In This Role You Should Expect To
- Profile finishing farms during sales periods to project sales of pigs according to desired marketing criteria
- Accurately manage inventory during sale of hogs until farm is cleaned out and prepped for babies
- Communicate effectively with contract growers, truck dispatch, loading teams, regional service personnel, and others of any changes in sales schedule immediately
- Follow all company guidelines for proper biosecurity
- Assist teammates in the weighing of market hogs on a weekly basis
- Report major damages to supervisor
- Champion a Safety Culture
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
- At least 18 years of age
- Strong organizational skills
- High School/GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural related program preferred, but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literacy in all MS Office
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Detail-oriented
- Self-directed

- Time management abilities
- Maintain and sustain a clean driving record
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 30 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, climb
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat and cold)
- Able to work in dusty environments
- Comfortable working around large animals
- Ability to step over penning
- Ability to drive and operate company truck
- Repetitive use of both hands
