In this role you should expect to
Direct the activities of workers and daily operation of bulk warehouse / processing areaCollaborate with the Feedmill Manager to achieve operation efficiencies and successesManage inventory by prioritizing ingredients for processing based on feed rations being producedSupervise forklift, tractor, mixer, dryer, and grinder operationsOversee maintenance and repair of all department equipment and troubleshoot production challengesOperation requires outside work in all weather conditionsParticipate in employee recruitment and conduct interviews for hiringConduct weekly safety meetings and properly document safety trainingsProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to the teamChampion a Safety CultureFollow and adhere to all company policies and proceduresOther duties as assignedWho you are
At least 18 years of ageBachelor's degree preferred but not requiredIn lieu of education, 5 years in management role supervising team of 7 or more peopleAnalytical and mechanical aptitudeStrong decision-making & problem-solving skills with independent decision-making abilityStrong organizational skillsExcellent written & verbal communication skillsAbility to connect with people throughout all levels of organizationSuperb computer literacy in all MS OfficeDetail-orientedSelf-directedDependableTime management and multitasking abilitiesBilingual is not required, but a plusAble to work extended hours / weekends as neededPhysical Requirements
