In this role you should expect to
- Direct the activities of workers and daily operation of bulk warehouse/processing area
- Collaborate with the Feedmill Manager to achieve operation efficiencies and successes
- Manage inventory by prioritizing ingredients for processing based on feed rations being produced
- Supervise forklift, tractor, mixer, dryer, and grinder operations
- Oversee maintenance and repair of all department equipment and troubleshoot production challenges
- Operation requires outside work in all weather conditions
- Participate in employee recruitment and conduct interviews for hiring
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and properly document safety trainings
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to the team
- Champion a Safety Culture
- Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Who you are
- At least 18 years of age
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- In lieu of education, 5 years in management role supervising team of 7 or more people
- Analytical and mechanical aptitude
- Strong decision-making & problem-solving skills with independent decision-making ability
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Ability to connect with people throughout all levels of organization
- Superb computer literacy in all MS Office
- Detail-oriented
- Self-directed
- Dependable
- Time management and multitasking abilities
- Bilingual is not required, but a plus
- Able to work extended hours/weekends as needed
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 30 pounds repeatedly
- Must be able to repetitively climb up and down ladder safely, walk up and down steps, and work at heights
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, climb
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat and cold)
- Able to work in dusty environments
- Ability to drive and operate company truck
- Repetitive use of both hands
