The Cost Accountant supports plant operations in the activities of product costing, cost analysis, and expense analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in month end close activities related to Cost Accounting including preparation of journal entries
- Assist with the analysis of inventory and PPV variances--Maintain compliance with all JSox controls.
- Assist with preparation of actual vs. plan (budget) analysis. Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs and expense information for various product lines as needed for operational support
- Set up new raw material and FG product costs. maintain periodic cost rolls-updates
- Prepares estimates of new and proposed product costs. -
- Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in an ERP system.
- Assist with the maintenance and improvement of processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
- Assist in documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls.
- Represent Finance-Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, etc.

Education/Certification
- Bachelor degree in accounting or finance
Skills/Experience
- 2-4 years experience
Tools/Equipment:
- General office equipment and PC
On-site role for the first 60-90 days for training. Eligible to move to hybrid role after training period, 3 days onsite 2 days WFH. Must be in the Houston, TX Area.
