Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Supplier Quality Manager to join our manufacturing company. As the Supplier Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the supplier quality program, ensuring that our suppliers meet the highest quality standards and comply with our company's requirements. You will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to optimize supplier performance, drive continuous improvement, and enhance overall product quality throughout our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Quality Program Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive supplier quality program that aligns with the company's quality objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Establish clear quality expectations and criteria for suppliers, including quality standards, specifications, and inspection requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance through audits, assessments, and regular performance reviews.
- Identify areas of improvement and develop action plans to address supplier non-conformances and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Supplier Evaluation and Selection:
- Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate and approve potential suppliers based on their capabilities, quality management systems, and adherence to industry standards.
- Establish supplier qualification criteria and conduct on-site audits or assessments to ensure their compliance with quality requirements.
- When requested, participate in supplier selection processes, providing valuable insights and recommendations regarding supplier quality capabilities
Supplier Development and Collaboration:
- Work closely with suppliers to establish strong partnerships and foster a collaborative environment focused on quality improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to suppliers in implementing effective quality management systems and processes.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborate with suppliers to address performance gaps.
Quality Issue Resolution and Root Cause Analysis:
- Investigate and resolve quality issues related to supplied materials or components, coordinating with suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving efforts, using quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) to drive effective solutions.I
- mplement robust processes for managing supplier non-conformances, deviations, and corrective actions.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation of supplier quality activities, including audits, inspections, and performance metrics.
- Generate reports and present data to management, highlighting supplier quality trends, improvement opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices to identify opportunities for enhancing the supplier quality program.
