Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the avionics team, including Lead Avionics Technicians and junior technicians.

  • Hire, train, and evaluate team members to foster continuous improvement.

  • Conduct performance reviews with constructive feedback to enhance team capabilities.

  • Oversee avionics maintenance and repair operations in compliance with FAA regulations.

  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, workflows, and procedures for efficiency.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of maintenance work and regulatory compliance.

  • Collaborate with the Chief Inspector to uphold quality control and inspection standards.

  • Manage inventory and procurement of avionics parts and supplies.

  • Develop and oversee departmental budgets for cost-effective operations.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and FAA regulations.

  • Respond to aircraft incidents, providing solutions and technical guidance.

 

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and management skills with a focus on team development.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations and avionics maintenance practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively.

  • Exceptional communication skills for collaboration with teams and management.

  • Proficiency in maintenance tracking software.

  • Commitment to safety and quality in all operations.

  • Preferred: Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.

  • Minimum 7 years of aviation maintenance experience, including 3 years in a management role (Part 145 preferred).

  • Strong familiarity with aviation systems and component practices.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Capable of bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or at heights.

  • Manual dexterity to operate tools effectively.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
