Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant-Mohs Team provides specialized clinical care to patients in a surgical setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document patient’s medical history, physical assessment, Review of Symptoms, medications, and Consent for Care
- Enter patient’s medical information in an EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system
- Take vital signs and administer local anesthesia and / or medication to patients
- Discuss and explain treatments and procedures to patients
- Prepare Operating Room for patients
- Ensure surgery unit is compliant with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards
- Assist Surgeon with surgical procedures, treatments, and examinations
- Provide post-op care / medications and review post-op instructions with surgical patients
- Conduct drug inventories
- Demonstrate positive attitude with team leadership qualities
- Perform other duties as assigned

Education and / or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid Driver License is required
- 1 year experience as a CMA, LPN or medical assistant preferred
- Dermatology experience is preferred
- Must be proficient using computer software and entering data
Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner, both verbal and written
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents pertaining to various medical, treatment, and surgical matters.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply medical or scientific logic to situations, as needed.
Physical Demands
- The duties of this position require the employee to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- The employee must be able to assist or fully lift patients to and from a wheelchair.
