What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Total Development Solutions?
TDS is looking to add a new member to our team. We are a sitework (clearing, grading, sewer, water, stone, curb and asphalt) company working in the fields of residential, commercial and roadway construction. Our projects are located primarily in the Northern Virginia region.
We are seeking a Project Manager (working independently with little supervision).
Work Environment:
The position is primarily office-based, but includes local travel and may occasionally require the ability to walk physically challenging (such as wooded and or steep) jobsites. This is a salaried career, which may include infrequent work outside of normal business hours.
Typical Duties:
1. Negotiating and managing suppliers and subcontractors.
2. Visiting job sites to monitor and advise field crews.
3. Planning and strategizing efficient and cost effective methods of construction.
4. Performing takeoffs and pricing for change orders.
5. Budgeting and projecting job costs.
6. Maintaining client relations and representing TDS at progress meetings.
7. Assisting field superintendents by performing office related tasks.
8. Review contract specifications and documents to determine scope of work and/or changed conditions.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:
1. Previous experience in sitework construction is required.
2. Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of sitework construction (ideally in the Northern Virginia region).
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office and have knowledge of estimating/database/takeoff/accounting software (such as Agtek and Heavybid/HCSS).
4. Will preferably possess a college degree,
