Logistics Coordinator
We are currently seeking a talented and highly motivated professional who has great customer service skills. This is an entry level position and experience is not required. A willingness to learn and a team mentality will make you a successful candidate.
Primary duties
- Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain the best rates and service
- Manage the booking and tracking of all outbound and inbound shipments, ensuring all orders are delivered safely and timely.
- Provide timely updates and identify solutions when issues occur-work well under pressure
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and a quick study on software systems
- Develop and maintain contractual relationship with freight vendors
- Answer questions and resolve customer/carrier issues- problem solving skills
- Coordinate and process all shipping paperwork for both customers and carriers. This includes both domestic and international shipments.
- Identify and measure cost savings solutions for assigned customers-initiative
- Support customers with claims and shortages- professional writing and verbal skills
- Review and approve all freight invoices
- Ability to work well with peers and with cross functional teams
- Ability to work accurately, with interruptions, to meet deadlines
- Receive calls and e-mails from vendors and customers – requires excellent phone and professional writing skills
- Process orders, route and monitor shipments – attention to detail
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent necessary. Some College beneficial
- To perform this job successfully, the person must be able to work well with others in the spirit of cooperation.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills when communicating with customers or teammates.
- Must have strong Excel skills and systems aptitude
- Transportation or shipping experience beneficial, but not required.
- Must be organized, dependable, self-motivated, professional person with the ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to create and implement standard operating procedures, but able to flex as required.
- Reliable, punctual, accountable and possess excellent customer service skills.
