Total Distribution in Vandalia, Ohio is a branch of Peoples Services, Inc.which is a growing network of 3PL companies that provide quality supply chain logistics and transportation services. Peoples Services operates over 7.5 million square feet of public and contract warehouse space in 55 facilities across nine states. Our warehouses specialize in food grade storage and handling, polymers, plastics, chemicals and customized packaging and fulfillment services. Warehouses are located in Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Our warehouse locations, in-house transportation and brokerage services, company owned fleet of trucks and experienced supply chain team give us the leverage to provide efficient, reliable supply chain services.
We are looking for a Warehouse Professional to operate forklifts or appropriate material handling equipment for first shift.
Essential Functions:
- Stack and retrieve supplies and materials from staging/storage areas.
- Load and unload trailers and containers.
- Accurately receive inbound products including inspecting for damages and matching material to the manifest.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Accurately read picking tickets.
- Safely and accurately package products for shipping.
- Store and stack products safely.
- Load trucks efficiently including trailer inspection, verify correct material to load, and properly secure (i.e. strapping, tygard, etc).
- Greet and interact with drivers in a professional manner.
- Attend all safety meetings.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-3 years warehouse experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain OSHA certification as a forklift driver.
- Stand up lift experience helpful.
- Capable of working independently and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Good communication skills/ability to interact professionally.
- Basic computer skills for use of RF scanners.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to successfully pass background check and drug screening.
