Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a background and prior experience in complex commercial litigation such as consumer and privacy class actions, white collar defense and investigation, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation. This role requires excellent legal research skills and the ability to effectively write and present cases in court. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in legal proceedings, providing sound legal advice, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
Duties
- Represent clients in litigation matters, including trials, hearings, and mediations.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Prepare for court appearances by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and options regarding various issues.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on complex cases.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients' cases.
- Manage case files efficiently to ensure timely progress through the legal system.
Skills
- Proficient in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedure, including the discovery process and e-discovery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client interaction and courtroom presentation.
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop strategic solutions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all legal practices.
- Deposition, hearing and oral argument experience is a plus.
