Context & Environment
Responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an aggressive and effective occupational safety program to minimize the severity and frequency of loss control incidents.
Develop management systems to ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA 1906, 1910, 1917, and 1926.
Be responsible for oversight of the overall site safety programs, projects, maintenance of safety equipment, and act as the site contact for these related areas.
Audit and report on the status and condition of the safety and health programs for the site.
Interface with the Corporate IHOH coordinator and Occupational Health coordinator and other company process safety functions.
Responsible for maintaining the occupational safety at the site by evaluating work and ensuring existing procedures and work environments are adequate.
Manage the Contractor Safety Process.
Position is on call 24-hours per day and must be able to perform multiple roles in the NIMS Emergency Response Structure.
Activities
Act as the Focus area champion for the Safety & Health area for the Site management system.
Maintain Loss Control Procedures to ensure compliance with company rules, directives, and site policies
Communicate with all members of the site population to resolve issues relating to health and safety.
Responsible for interpreting safety and health regulations and developing programs to comply with these requirements.
Assist in developing the requirements for training site personnel for matters relating to Safety
Coordinate the use of proper PPE for routine, special, and emergency response activities
Provide support to contractor safety personnel on-site to ensure site procedures are implemented.
Perform routine inspections of work in the field to ensure compliance with procedures and ensure that existing procedures are adequate
Manage the site Safety Data Sheets
Assist the IH sampling
Review and maintain KPIs monthly to ensure compliance with other Loss Control Procedures and ensure continuous improvement.
Assist with appropriately managing the Safety and Health Budget at the site
Review projects as the LBU Safety and Health SME
Candidate Profile
A degree in Safety is preferred, but Engineering or related technical degree may be considered.
Applicants need at least 5 years of experience specifically in the area of industrial safety.
Supervisory experience is preferred.
Additional Information
This position has limited funds for relocation and is NOT available for expatriation.
