Description
The Service Manager manages the dealerships service department. This includes managing employees, delegating work, managing repair lead-time, and reviewing performance and profitability indicators.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage Service Technicians and Service Writers to ensure repairs are completed and billed timely and properly.
• Ensure that Service Technicians are appropriately clocked into jobs and billing the appropriate time.
• Confirm all work orders are invoiced properly.
• Follow-up with customers regarding their billing and/or questions about repairs.
• Document and update service and warranty tickets.
• Manage WIP and service department lead-time in accordance with company policy.
• Ensure all PDI and Sales Installs are completed properly.
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow all industry and company safety regulations.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by Branch Manager.
• Achieve established monthly goals.
• Handle customer complaints, employee conflicts, and daily operational issues.

Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities
• Understanding of key performance indicators such as efficiency, recovery rate, and rework percentage.
• Knowledge of industry related safety regulations.
• Compact Construction Equipment Repair Experience (preferred).
• Understand product performance expectations and limitations.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other various software programs.
• Ability to read and understand a P&L statement.
Education and Experience
• Associate degree in Mechanics from an accredited Technical School/College or 5 years’ experience in Compact Equipment or related service.
• 3 years of management experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to operate compact construction equipment.
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk / working on a computer, as well as prolonged periods of standing or walking.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, stand, lie, and squat to perform inspections, and assist technicians.
• Must be able to lift and pull 40 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.
• Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools and equipment.
• Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
• Must be able to hear well enough to test sounds and identify functioning level of equipment.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Must be able to perform the physical duties of the job.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
