Total Eyecare and Eyewear is a well-known and established eye care practice located in Denton, TX. We are searching for an Optometric Technician/Scribe to join our growing team of eye care professionals. In this role, you will use your ophthalmic knowledge, friendly demeanor, and on-going training to create great customer experiences. Doctor's Assistants work with the doctors to deliver patient care, pre-testing, post-exam duties, and other testing and maintain the doctor’s appointment schedule in a manner that delivers a professional and positive patient experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs preliminary evaluation of patients prior to exam
- Assists OD's to care for patients in a timely, effective manner, as closely to appointed schedule as possible
- Perform scribe duties to accurately document ocular history, medical information, vision testing and findings as dictated from the doctor during exams using Eyefinity EHR software
- Schedules referral appointments with outside entities.
- Records and maintains patient records / files in compliance with company, federal, and state policies (HIPAA)
- Participates in store meetings / projects as requested
- Ensures optimized scheduling occurs thru pre-appointment confirmation, daily appointment confirmation, contacting patients from recall listings,
- Calls all no shows or cancelled patients to reschedule appointments a
- Performs end of day responsibilities to include opti-schedule wrap-up, end of day checklist, etc.
- Performs other duties within the store as requested and as time allows

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
