Total Family Eye Care is a growing optometry practice located in Grimes. We are recruiting for an individual that can partner with our team of opticians, technicians, and doctors to give each patient the best experience in patient care and service. The Optician contributes to a positive patient experience by ensuring the process of care from greeting to retention consistently exceeds patient expectations. They will be responsible for understanding and educating patients on ocular health, refractive needs, and health insurance/ vision plans as they relate to requested services. Fitting and measuring cutting edge and top quality optical products. Submitting claims for eye care and eye wear. Exhibit the values of Total Family Eye Care through communicating gratitude, value of products and services and transparent billing procedures.
Primary responsibilities Include:
- Frame styling/ fitting
- Comfortable selling high end eye wear and innovative ophthalmic lenses
- Adjusting and repairing eye wear
- Dispensing and selling contact lenses
- Training new wearers how to insert and remove contact lenses
- Working with insurance plans
- Performing other duties as needed
- Insurance remittance
- patient billing
Candidate Should have:

Medical office, Optical, or Sales experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right individual! We do require strong communication and computer skills with a positive, patient service focused attitude.

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour
