What You’ll Be Doing
The Clinical Manager is responsible for leading the clinical support staff while assisting Provider(s) in the care of patients to assure optimal delivery of medical care and providing oversight and guidance to the effective operations of the clinic.
The successful candidate will be able to:
- Manage facility clinical operations to ensure long-term success while connecting with patients
- Assist in the supervision, management, motivation & hiring/separation of staff as needed
- Train new and existing employees on new policies, procedures or healthcare updates
- Analyze data trends to develop a better understanding of overall facility efficiency
- Organize patient records and other essential documents and resources
- Communicate with all Total Family employees, including medical professionals, fellow managers and executives
- Communicate with patients and their family to put them at ease
- Maintain medical supply inventory for clinic
- Oversees patient scheduling, per scheduling guidelines
- Oversees patient referrals, prior authorizations and DME; schedule and coordinate appointments with specialists and outside organizations as needed
- Oversees incoming and outgoing information/records received from specialists, hospitals, and emergency rooms; appropriately indexes documents
- Oversees update patient information in the EMR (i.e. demographics, contact preferences, insurance information etc.).
- Preview the schedule in advance, re-evaluates it throughout the day; tracks the flow of the clinic schedule to keep team on track and on time
- Oversee collaboration with provider(s) to ensure patients receive appropriate counseling and health education at time of visit or via telephonic follow-up (i.e. explanation of lab results, glucometer and inhaler teaching, chronic disease education, etc.)
- Manage influx of clinical triage calls; conducts appropriate triage over the phone and assesses whether patient can be treated telephonically or needs to be seen by provider
- Work in partnership with team members; collaborates with care team to ensure patient’s healthcare needs are being met
- Performs any and all other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- At least 3-4 years recent experience in family practice or primary care setting
- Supervisory experience, required
- Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate effective with Providers and others to resolve issues
- Ability to demonstrate reliability and responsiveness to patients, families, and co-workers
