Overview
Total Fire Protection is expanding rapidly, presenting an exciting and challenging opportunity to bring your fresh ideas, polished expertise, and collaborative attitude to support our growth. The Estimator will estimate, write, edit, and coordinate proposals, as well as respond to Requests For Proposals (RFPs) within extremely tight deadlines. This includes writing narratives in response to RFPs, developing templates for proposals per RFP or RFQ instructions, developing and maintaining databases of responses. Confirm solicitation contents including scope of work, equipment and service requirements, terms and conditions, pricing information, and competitive specifications to ensure all information is properly captured and represented in our response.
The ideal candidate will have experience in factoring in materials, labor, equipment, and transportation for estimates and help determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints. As the Estimator, you will report directly to the Director of Service Operations, and must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures pertaining to Fire and Life Safety.

Responsibilities

- Understand Total Fire Protection’s strategy, business, and growth initiatives.
- Write Total Fire Protection responses to Customer, as requested, consistent with proposed sales of services, in a thorough and accurate manner to ensure Customer receive TFP’s proposals in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review the Customer solicitation contents including scope of work, equipment and service requirements, terms and conditions, pricing information, and competitive specifications to ensure all information is properly captured and represented in our Proposal of Services, to be sent to our customers.
- Ability to forecast project costs, gather details, and compile data to estimate all maintenance, service, and/or installation costs according to specifications.
- Communicate with Supervisor to ensure deliverables are being provided on time and will conform to customer requirements.
- Create and update standard template on a continual basis and maintains resource library and proposal archives.
- General office administration.
- Other responsibilities and tasks, as assigned.
- One (1) - Three (3) years professional experience in Estimating, Proposal Development or writing experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Engineering degree a plus.
- Meticulous attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to write accurately and efficiently.
- Good research and analytical skills.
- Ensure that Proposals are of the highest quality and represent TFP first-class level of work.
- Discretion to maintain confidential information.
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, virtual, and dynamic environment.
- Capability to function independently in a team environment with little supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Publisher.
- Career-oriented with outstanding organizational, editing, and interpersonal skills.

Salary : $50,000 - $80,000
