Position: Sample Accessioning Technician
Job Details:
- This position is a pre-analytical position in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Position will receive specimens from couriers as well as UPS and FedEx deliveries.
- Open specimens and ensure they are viable according to internal policies, as well as COLA and CLIA guidelines.
- Accession / receive samples into Lab Information System
- Prepare specimens for send out for testing not performed in house, including accessioning into send out laboratory portal and aliquoting specimens according to their specimen acceptance requirements.
- Ensure specimens received are correct per internal policies, including the correct tube type, correct source type and correct storage requirements.
-Some Driving will be required with Company Vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience registering samples or patients in a clinical laboratory or other clinical setting, such as a hospital.
- Experience identifying different specimen types and different tube types.
- Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and inputting data into a LIMS.
Required Qualifications:
- General use of computers, including being able to input patient information and use common Microsoft Office products.
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory terminology.
-Valid Driver license with a good driving record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
