ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior Group Travel Manager, you will have a diverse and varied role. Ultimately you will be responsible for the successful end-to-end delivery of group and event travel projects across several of our key clients. While based in New York, the successful candidate will report to the Group and Event Travel Team in London, requiring strong communication and collaboration skills to align with international standards and processes.
This role is hands-on and will require you to:
- Plan, coordinate, and manage group travel logistics for conferences, incentives, meetings, and events, including flights, accommodation, ground transportation and meeting spaces.
- Work with existing preferred suppliers or negotiate rates and contracts with airlines, hotels, and transportation providers.
- Develop customised travel itineraries tailored to group needs, ensuring seamless execution.
- Monitor group travel budgets, track expenses, and provide detailed financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall travel and event experience.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative solutions into group travel and event planning.
- You will be extremely solution driven and have the ability to develop relationships with clients while understanding their unique requirements to deliver a first-class service, independently as well as driving excellence from the wider team.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of 5 years travel industry experience, preferably within Group/Event Travel.
- Experience processing and managing large group bookings – including group flights, hotels and ground transportation.
- Strong industry knowledge with an understanding of airfares, contracted fares, ticketing and hotel reservations.
- Ability to pitch and propose group travel solutions to new and existing clients.
- Experience managing and processing travel requirement through event registration platforms i.e Cvent
- Proven knowledge of a GDS is a must (Ideally Galileo/Smartpoint).
- Extensive experience in project managing Group/Event Travel from proposal to completion.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of project budgeting and budget management.
- Proven ability to source and win new business is preferred.
- Financial reporting in relation to event and group travel projects.
- Knowledge of travel mid/back-office systems (ideally Protas/Procon).
- Client account management.
- Knowledge of using an Online Booking Tool (OBT).
- Negotiating fares and supplier contracts.

Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
