What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator- All Shifts position at Total Network Manufacturing LLC?
Position Summary
Assist in assuring the safe and efficient delivery and loading of parts to various locations in the plant and for shipment.
Responsibilities
- Stocks production line with parts on a first in – first out (FIFO) basis as requested by the Logistics or Production Supervisors or designee.
- Maintain responsibility for all parts in the assigned cell or work area.
- Load and unload trucks, conveyers, and other types of transporting equipment, either manually or with aid of material handling devices.
- Transporting material to and from departments and workstations, using hand trucks, forklifts, tote boxes and other material handling equipment.
- Restock line at end of shift to maximum levels before leaving.
- Notify Logistics Supervisor of any stock deficiencies.
- Interacts and assists with other material handlers to ensure adequate stock is available to maintain production.
- Notify Logistics Supervisor of battery acid spills if one occurs and keep responsible cell area clean.
- Report any accident, near miss, product, and/or property damage immediately.
- Wear appropriate PPE.
- Follow all plant and forklift/tugger safety rules.
- Support shift rotation schedules as required.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- All other duties as assigned.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE):
- Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed.
- Ensure adherence to established quality and 5S standards.
- Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues.
- Must be willing to take action when substandard performance is observed.
- Review and adhere to TNM health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, policies, and forms.
Other:

Knowledge / Skills:
- Prior fork truck driving experience preferred.
- Ability to obtain forklift driver license.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Less than 3 points per TNM’s attendance policy.
- Three years prior working experience.
- 1 year of manufacturing/assembly.
- Automotive/manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· While performing the various duties of the job the employee is frequently required to stand, stoop, bend, walk, sit use hands to handle, manipulate or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, speak and hear.
· Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs; some jobs require continuous lifting of 50lbs
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
· Must also be able to discern various shades of color for all materials
· Must be able to use a variety of tools (ie hog ring gun, torque gun, screwdriver, mallets, etc) as required.
