Job Summary:
The Revenue Cycle Financial Analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data related to the revenue cycle, identifying trends, and providing insights to improve financial performance. This role will support revenue cycle operations by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), optimizing billing and collections processes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze revenue cycle data, including billing, collections, denials, and reimbursements.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards and reports to track KPIs such as days in A/R, denial rates, and collections.
- Identify revenue leakage and provide actionable insights for improvement.
- Assist in forecasting revenue trends and financial performance related to the revenue cycle.
Revenue Cycle Optimization:
- Assess and recommend improvements in billing, coding, and claims submission processes.
- Work with billing and collections teams to enhance efficiency and reduce outstanding accounts receivable.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure proper charge capture and documentation.
- Support payer contract negotiations by analyzing reimbursement trends and payer performance.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer policies, and revenue cycle best practices.
- Assist in internal audits related to revenue cycle functions.
- Monitor coding and documentation accuracy to mitigate compliance risks.
Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with finance, billing, and clinical teams to streamline revenue cycle operations.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to leadership for strategic decision-making.
- Assist in the implementation of revenue cycle technologies and automation tools.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 2 years in revenue cycle analysis, healthcare finance, or a related field (preferably in an orthopedic or multi-specialty clinic setting).
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in revenue cycle software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, NextGen) and financial reporting tools.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and payer reimbursement methodologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with orthopedic or specialty healthcare revenue cycle.
- Familiarity with value-based care models and reimbursement trends.
- Certification in healthcare finance or revenue cycle management (e.g., CRCR, HFMA, CPC).
