What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Total Plastic Solutions?
This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of our facility. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for the custodian/housekeeping to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises. The designated role assigned to perform the duties of this position during absences is the second custodian on Staff or a Maintenance Tech.
Duties:
1. Clean breakroom areas and remove all trash.
2. Vacuum, mop and buff floors.
3. Clean employee and visitor bathrooms.
4. Wipe down white plastic walls (bathrooms, stairwells & QA areas)
5. Clean water fountains, employee wash stations and refill soap and paper towels (as needed).
6. Empty outside trash cans and remove cigarette butts from gazebo.
7. Empty trash in designated areas.
8. Vacuuming combustible dust as needed throughout the facility.
9. Walk building perimeter to collect any discarded trash.
10. General dusting of common areas and displays.
11. Complete and turn in TPL-832 weekly.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role. Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances. Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components. Ability to stand and walk for long periods and ability to lift and move over 35 pounds. Ability to work with minimal supervision and to perform the cleaning tasks outlined above.
High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Must be at least 18 years old.
