Responsibilities:
1. Conduct and participate in Stand down Meetings
2 Assign daily inspection tasks and ensure proper resource allocation
3. Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Quality Leaders/Technicians
4. Lead by example to promote a culture of quality and accountability
5. Ensure that Quality Inspectors follow inspection procedures, work instructions, and quality standards
6. Develop and implement sampling plans for inspection processes to balance efficiency and accuracy
7. Monitor in-process and final product inspections to prevent defects and maintain consistency
8. Maintain and coordinate MRB activities
9. Monitors in-process inspections to detect and address defects early, preventing non-conforming products from progressing.
10. Conducts periodic spot checks and audits on inspection processes, ensuring high standards are maintained consistently.
11. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality concerns and process inefficiencies.
12. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve product quality.
13 Train and mentor Quality Inspectors in defect recognition, process control inspections, and documentation best practices.
14. Provide refresher training on quality standards and inspection techniques.
15. Promote cross-functional collaboration between the quality, production, and engineering teams.
16. Understand and apply ISO 13485 Clauses( 4.2.4, 4.2.5, 5.3, 7.6, 8.2.4, 8.2.5, 8.2.6, 8.3, 8.5.1, 8.5.2, 8.5.3) to applicable role responsibilities.
17. Understand and apply AS9100 Clauses to applicable role responsibilities
18. Understand and apply ISO 14001 Clauses to applicable role responsibilities
19. Follow requirements of ISO standards to maintain and improve the Quality Management System
Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Certification(s) or Licenses:
Minimum 1 year of experience in quality inspection or quality leadership within the plastic molding or medical device industry.
Work Experience… a minimum of two years supervisory/management experience, a basic knowledge of quality principals, an understanding of measuring equipment, a good attitude, a desire to succeed and is not intimidated by confrontation. This person must conduct themselves with professionalism and decor when discussing quality issues whether it be to an operator, supervisor, manager or owner.
Experience with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, vision systems, and statistical process control (SPC).
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of quality assurance and regulatory requirements in manufacturing.
Leadership abilities to mentor and guide a quality team effectively.
Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work across departments and with external partners
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 30lbs. Flexibility in working hours. Standing ability for at least 7.5 hours, ability to reach overhead and able to bend below waist level as needed per job.
