- High School Graduate or GED equivalent, must be able to produce a copy of a diploma or official transcript; graduate of an accredited school/college preferred
- College preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word /Excel / Outlook and internet navigation programs required.
- Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS)
- 3 years experience in patient registration in a freestanding ER
- 3 years Leadership position
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supports in ensuring confidentiality, security and proper storage and handling of facility medical records in accordance with company policy, the TAC 131, local, Federal and State laws.
2. Performs basic front desk duties such as verification of eligibility (insurance verification), data entry of patient demographic information, collecting payments, monitor fax, phones, and emails.
3. Assists the RN staff with performing labs, room clean-up, and triage as needed.
4. Performs patient chart audits to ensure all front desk personnel is accurately completing information and gathering the required documentation/information
5. Conducts monthly staff meetings with all Patient Registration Specialist staff
6. Implements and enforces front desk policies and procedures and file maintenance.
a. Ensures front office policy and procedures are updated as needed.
7. Provides oversight of the patient registration process and assigned front office functions to ensure appropriate and efficient operation and compliance, overseeing the initial collection of payment for services.
8. Lead must get signed off by the Lab Director as a Lab Trainer and ensure all Frisco ER employees are trained and compliant in lab protocols and procedures.
9. Ensures Patient Registration Specialist employees are made aware of their job duties and responsibilities and are properly trained and receive orientation upon being hired that familiarizes them with facility or company policy and procedures, equipment operation, and that job descriptions for each employee are appropriate for the position.
10. Creates the front office personnel work schedules and ensures that all shifts are adequately covered with qualified personnel and responds to scheduling emergency situations 24/7 and is back-up for open shifts or shifts that become open due to an emergency
11. Ensures that all front desk logs are completed each day and uploaded or submitted to the billing company in a timely manner.
12. Holds Patient Registration Specialist employees accountable for completing their daily tasks
13. Performs daily reconciliations of all cash, credit card transactions and checks to ensure they are balanced to the daily receipts log.
14. Oversees the proper processing of all incoming mail that all receivable-related correspondence is forwarded to the appropriate lockbox, as applicable, for all companies and entities related to the facility.
15. Ensures that all front desk forms remain updated and stocked.
16. Maintains inventory and order when needed of all office supplies as approved by the Facility Admin.
