JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Irrigation Service Technician

REPORTS TO: Irrigation Supervisor/Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This position is responsible for servicing/repairing of customer sprinkling systems as well as recommending new equipment and other services as necessary. Consists of multi-tasking to complete projects under budget and to the company’s safety and quality standards. This position also assists in other departments when available and as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, bending, squating, kneeling and or sitting to work on irrigation equipment. Ability to lift 50-100 pounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Prepare for jobs each day by reviewing work orders, establishing what product, equipment and supplies are needed.
• Regular positive communication with customers upon arrival and throughout duration of visit to job sites.
• Perform procedures involving start up, service and/or winterization of sprinkler system, this includes troublshooting as needed.
• Take direction from Irrigation Supervisor/Manager, which may include work in other departments as needed.
• Follow all safety guidelines as well as other company rules/policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

At least 2 years in a similar field that include troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose electrical and/or water pressure related issues. Must have basic math skills as well as good written and oral communication skills as well as strong problem solving abilities. A valid MI driver’s license with chauffer’s license included is required.
