Job DescriptionPhlebotomy (Medical Technologist)
- The employee will perform patient phlebotomy to include inpatient ward rounds, inpatient and outpatient, Emergency Department (ED), STAT, as soon as possible (ASAP), and timed draws.
- The employee will perform sample processing and send out preparation .
- As part of safety and safeguards electronic and paper patient information.
- Independently tests, evaluates, documents, and reports patient testing and Quality Control (QC); identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing or reporting issues.

- Assures patient-centered care and provides service in a manner that is professional and will avoid complaints from all stakeholders and customers
Qualifications:
The Phlebotomist assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract must have three (3) years of recent Phlebotomy experience.
Technical Proficiency: Contractor's employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment and/or services performed.
VA HOURS OF OPERATION/SCHEDULING:
The contractor may be required to provide services during the following times:
Phlebotomists will work Day, Evening, and limited Weekend and Holiday shifts. Phlebotomists will NOT be working any Night Shifts.

The employee may also be required to overtime shifts during the shifts specified above. However, on call or standby duties will NOT be required.
Contractor's personnel shall be available and present during specified tour of duty hours at their assigned VAMC which will be established, and may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care
