Gate Attendant

JWe are seeking a Security Gate Attendant to become an integral part of our team.

Responsibilities:

• Positive Attitude
• Reliable Transportation/ Own Vehicle
• Ability to pass a background check
• Be comfortable in all weather conditions
• The gate attendant will give a polite greeting to everyone exciting the lumberyard
• All gate attendants will make sure that any merchandise leaving the yard is paid for.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields in a plus
• Familiarity with a lumberyard is a plus
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Be at least 18 years of age

Duties

• Monitor premises through surveillance systems and on-site presence to ensure safety and security.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify any potential hazards or security breaches.
• Respond promptly to incidents, providing first aid or CPR when necessary, and coordinating with law enforcement if required.
• Implement loss prevention strategies to minimize theft and damage to property.
• Manage conflicts effectively, utilizing conflict management skills to de-escalate situations.
• Maintain accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and any irregularities observed during shifts.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance overall safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred; candidates with relevant certifications will be prioritized.
• Experience in law enforcement or military service is a plus, providing valuable skills in surveillance and conflict management.
• Familiarity with CCTV systems and loss prevention techniques is advantageous.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to remain alert and attentive at all times.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective reporting and interaction with staff and visitors.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
