Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
- Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for medical professionals.
- Assist with insurance verification and patient registration processes.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Handle medical coding tasks, including ICD-9 coding, to ensure proper documentation.
- Support office management duties, ensuring the reception area is tidy and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their inquiries and concerns in both languages.
Experience
- Previous experience in a medical or dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices and insurance verification processes is a plus.
- Proficiency in using office management software and electronic health records systems, particularly Epic.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and another language.
- A background in healthcare administration or related fields will be considered an asset.
