Description : Basic Qualifications : Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing or mining setting. Skill Requirements : The following skills / experience requirements are not all-inclusive but are representative of the requirements commonly associated with this position. General- Experience with service and operation of industrial mobile equipment such as forklifts, man lifts, and skid steer loaders. Ability to read, write, and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. Ability to use basic math operations to complete daily tasks. Ability to deal with high-stress situations. Ability to communicate well with others. Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and general assembly schematics. Experience with troubleshooting various machine systems (Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical). Perform Preventative maintenance activities and other routine maintenance and repairs around facility grounds. Identify and repair potential safety hazards. Ability to don all necessary PPE and safely work at heights, and other precarious places. Ability to communicate effectively via radio using two-way radio. Actively participate and support operations functions as necessary, including but not limited to internal equipment inspections, fire watch, cleaning of work area(s), etc. Proficient knowledge, skills and abilities required to properly identify and safely and effectively use and maintain hand tools and portable power tools on a routine basis while performing maintenance tasks. Maintains and follows all Company health and safety requirements, policies, and procedures. Electrical Experience working with low to medium voltages ranging from 12 to 24 VDC and 120 to 480 VAC. Experience troubleshooting and replacing 3-phase AC motors. Basic understanding and troubleshooting of motor controls including motor starters, relays, push button stations, and thermal overload relays. Basic understanding of PLC operations, serial communications, ethernet communications, field instrumentation, and I / O functions. Ability to do common electrical distribution work such as installing conduit, flex conduit, rigid piping, seal tight conduit, and disconnect switches. Experience with A / C drives (VFD, Reduced voltage starters) would be a plus. Mechanical- Installation and repair of a variety of power transmission devices including bearings, direct drive gear reducers, chain drives, sprockets and belt drives. Experience with repair, maintenance and installation of material handling equipment such as chain conveyors, belt conveyors and augers. Installation of electric motors and various motor couplings. Assembly / repair of large industrial equipment, including medium bore bearings. Knowledge of basic rigging / lifting techniques. Hydraulics- Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of a variety of hydraulic pumps, motors, accumulators, piping, and heat exchangers. Fabrication- Ability to measure and cut using oxy-acetylene torches or plasma torches. Ability to weld using, SMAW or GMAW (Stick or MIG). Safety- Clear and demonstrable understanding of Lock out / Tag out procedures and energy isolation. Clear and demonstrable understanding of Arc Flash Safety and general NFPA 70E safety guidelines. Understanding of and experience with various fall protection equipment and industry standard practices. Familiar with the use of Hot Work Permits, as well as fire prevention equipment (fire extinguishers, welding blankets, and welding curtains). Ability to clearly understand and operate within the company s Health and Safety Program. Education, Licenses & Experience : High school Diploma or equivalent Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience Industrial Technology / Industrial Maintenance / Electrical Technology Certifications preferred. Physical Requirements : Must be physically able to perform work assigned. Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 30 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and common use of man lifts wearing a safety harness. Work will be predominantly in an indoor manufacturing facility or periodically at a customer mineral processing / mining site. The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions : Heat, noise, vibration, oils, greases, solvents, and atmospheric conditions such as dust. The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time) : Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing, and sitting. Ascend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders as part of normal work activity and emergency egress situations. Lift 50 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, corrected or otherwise.
