Operations Supervisor
As an Operations Supervisor, you will oversee driver check-ins, pricing and quoting loads, data entry into the computer database, assigning daily lumper tasks, processing payroll, completing daily reports, receiving payments from carriers and drivers, and coordinating with both on-site management and the corporate office.
Additionally, you will be responsible for unloading shipping containers and trailers for warehouse storage, as well as ensuring the proper breakdown, sorting, and segregation of received products. Responsibilities include accurately managing the separation of cases and placing them on pallets for all inbound freight. You must ensure that production code dates are visible and that any damaged cases are reported to the on-site operations manager.
You will also be responsible for accurately handling and reporting all checks and cash. All cash and checks must be sent to the main office on a weekly basis, along with the week-ending reports.
Key ResponsibilitiesJob Duties:
- Ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse to meet service standards.
- Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate staff, monitor and evaluate performance of lumper and receiving associates, and ensure they can safely operate material handling equipment. Take necessary disciplinary actions when needed.
- Ensure proper labor coverage for daily workload. Communicate with Imperial Operations to plan staffing for daily and weekly volume.
- Provide direct supervision and training to all Total Warehouse Solutions employees, including safety training, unloading methods, time and attendance management, and disciplinary actions. Maintain all safety and attendance records.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external standard operating procedures.
- Assist in developing programs to train and motivate personnel for increased effectiveness.
- Develop and implement receiving work schedules and assignments to ensure efficient operations.
- Make recommendations to the Operations Manager for improving receiving operations.
- Interact with customers daily and attend regular customer meetings.
- Direct receiving personnel to achieve operational objectives.
- Develop a productive team by implementing hiring, training, and professional development programs.
- Create a daily plan for allocating equipment to job tasks.
- Manage equipment usage and ensure proper safety training.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers.
- Supervise all inbound shipments to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
- Drive cost improvement initiatives by identifying system enhancements, optimizing headcount, and improving space utilization.
- Develop and execute strategies to efficiently support special projects and new service offerings.
- Collaborate with senior management in Warehouse Operations, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Customer Service.
