Position Overview:
Total-Western is currently seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join our team. In this entry-level position, you will support the various trades and teams on our construction sites, helping to maintain a safe, efficient, and organized environment. As a General Laborer, your role will be essential in ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet our high standards of quality and safety. You will gain valuable hands-on experience, contributing to the success of Total-Western's projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Preparation: Assist with setting up and clearing construction sites, including the unloading and moving of materials and tools.
Material Handling: Transport and distribute materials to workers and construction areas as needed, ensuring that everything is accessible and properly stored.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure that everything remains in good working condition.
Support Skilled Trades: Assist skilled workers such as carpenters, welders, and electricians with their tasks, ensuring that projects run smoothly and safely.
Safety Compliance: Follow all safety regulations and protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and reporting hazards to supervisors.
General Labor Tasks: Perform various tasks such as digging, lifting, moving materials, and other manual labor duties as assigned by the site supervisor or project manager.
Job Site Cleanliness: Ensure that the work site is clean, organized, and free from hazards by collecting trash, debris, and unused materials.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Previous labor or construction experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided on the job.
Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects, bending, squatting, and standing for long periods.
Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of safety practices and a commitment to working in a safe environment.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople.
Dependability: Punctual, reliable, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in general labor, construction, or related fields is advantageous.
Familiarity with using hand tools and power tools.
Basic knowledge of construction site safety and proper PPE usage.
Work Environment:

The General Laborer will report directly to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager, assisting with various tasks and ensuring that projects are completed safely and efficiently.

Salary Range: $18 - $22 per hour, based on experience.
