Position Overview: The Project Manager, Industrial Construction, is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of industrial construction projects. You will be entrusted with managing project teams, resources, schedules, and budgets to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in compliance with safety and quality standards. The Project Manager will also play a vital role in client relationship management, serving as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. Your leadership and project management expertise will contribute to Total-Western’s continued success in providing high-quality, cost-effective solutions across industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial construction projects, ensuring that all project goals are met in accordance with client specifications and company standards.
Budget & Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and the project is completed within the established financial parameters. Maintain project schedules, identify risks, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Team Leadership: Direct and manage multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to ensure high performance and professional development.
Client & Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project objectives. Address client concerns and resolve issues promptly to ensure client satisfaction.
Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project work is completed safely, meeting all safety protocols and regulatory standards. Oversee quality control processes to ensure that work meets Total-Western’s high standards of excellence.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, such as delays, safety issues, or budget overruns, and implement strategies to mitigate or address these risks in a proactive manner.
Procurement & Contract Management: Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and resolving any issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, meeting notes, and progress reports. Regularly update leadership and clients on project status, including milestones, deliverables, and risks.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, codes, and safety regulations.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera).
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and build strong client relationships.
Solid understanding of budget management, cost control, and project scheduling.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Experience:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management certification.
Experience working on EPCOM (engineering, procurement, construction, operations, maintenance) projects.
Knowledge of contract negotiation, procurement strategies, and risk management in the construction industry.
Experience working with clients in the oil & gas, aerospace, petrochemical, or renewable energy industries.
Work Environment: This position is primarily office-based, but the Project Manager will be required to visit construction sites regularly to ensure that projects are progressing according to plan. Site visits may involve exposure to construction environments, and adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
Reporting Structure: The Project Manager reports to the Director of Project Management or Senior Project Manager and works closely with engineers, project teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure successful project delivery. This position may also involve supervising project coordinators, assistants, or junior project managers.
