What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Demand Planning position at Total Wine & More?
You will
Become a subject matter expert on the Demand Planning module of our new advanced planning system (o9) to create the best possible statistical forecast model
Collaborate with Marketing, Store Sales Teams, Merchandising, and others to collect, input, and adequately consider demand inputs (events, promotions, price changes, weather, etc.)
Manage system-generated demand plans through historical corrections, exceptions, anomalies, statistical forecast review, consensus planning, baseline finalization, and KPI review; assess the impact of market changes, trends, or significant forecast variances to recommend appropriate revisions or tactics.
Build demand plans based on market data and "what if" scenarios that analyze new product introductions
Develop demand plans for items, categories, and other planning levels that meet KPIs such as forecast accuracy and customer-facing KPIs such as in-stock rates.
Analyze large amounts of data for developing projections and estimate, calculate, and analyze key forecasting metrics
Lead root cause analysis efforts for items not meeting their demand plans; turn analysis into insights, process improvements, and system configuration changes
Collaborate with key partners in marketing, merchandising, and finance to address input gaps as identified by forecast error review
Support Integrated Business Planning processes, helping to coordinate and align on a cross-functional consensus demand plan
Work with various cross-functional teams on projects such as new product launches, line extensions, and product discontinuations. Demonstrate sound business decision-making that is aligned with company goals.
You will come with
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Operations, Data Science/Mathematics, or a related field
5 years of demand planning, forecasting, and/or inventory planning experience
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into high-level analysis and demand planning; capability to understand and communicate insights from complex data/statistical models.
High attention to detail and ability to understand demand influencing nuances of complex, interdependent items and product categories.
Knowledge of forecasting processes in sales, finance, supply chain, or merchandising
Experience and proficiency in process development and process improvement
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel (can perform complex functions), Word and Outlook
Demonstrated capability to work cross-functionally and build strong working relationships with key internal partners
Well organized and self-motivated with the ability to understand strategic business directives and tailor approaches/solutions to drive towards those objectives; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision when needed.
Experience with o9 is a plus

The exempt compensation range for this position is $53,600-$114,400. Compensation may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills and/or experience.
