About the position:
TJFACT is seeking a well-qualified Evaluation Specialist to join our team to support our CDC - Associate Director and Islands Coordinator’s objectives in NCCDPHP, Office of the Director, Office of Public Health Practice (OPHP) in Atlanta, Georgia!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Gather information about other programs that support the Islands recipients from various Divisions/staff within the Center; collect and synthesize existing data on Islands recipients using published literature, the World Health Organization, Pacific Community (SPC), and other available resources; provide summary reports and one pagers on existing needs/gaps of Islands recipients.
- Provide graphics and presentation materials; develop materials, e.g. one-pagers for dissemination, slides for presentations, briefing materials; Prepare information packets for senior leadership.
- Provide technical guidance during meetings and work sessions by coordinating meeting schedules and providing logistical support such as preparing agendas and other meeting materials and documenting outcomes and next steps from meetings.
- Coordinate, plan, and participate in conference calls with recipients, partners and organizations working in the U.S. Territories and Affiliated Pacific Islands. Manage video conferences and/or operator-assisted teleconferences to provide quality control and assurance. Stay updated on various time zones for participants to ensure all can participate. These calls often take place outside of normal business hours due to the different time zones in the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands.
- Coordinate, plan, and participate in site visits and recipient meetings in the U.S. Territories and Affiliated Pacific Islands. Prepare briefing and background materials, work with team members to develop objectives and corresponding agendas, prepare site visit reports and de-briefing materials. It is anticipated that the contractor shall conduct up to 3 site visits per year. Up to two site visits could be 10-14 days in the Pacific region and one site visit could be 7 days to the Caribbean region.
- Track and maintain files for the Islands Program. Develop and/or update templates for recipients as part of continuation applications, receive program documents and files, and maintain filing system on CDC shared drive or One Drive.
- Develop and maintain tracking system for post award amendments (carryover requests, re-directions, change in personnel, etc). Monitor Grants Solutions on a weekly basis to identify needed actions by project officers. Regularly update the Islands Program and corresponding project officers on any outstanding actions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 10 years public health experience
- Extensive knowledge and awareness of the U.S. territories and affiliated Pacific Islands.
- The ability to work well with others and manage multiple tasks, with good organizational skills.
- The ability to handle contacts with internal and external constituents through a variety of situations with diplomacy and tact, in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.
