About this Position:

TJFACT and partner DPS are seeking a well-qualified Instructor to support the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) Faculty, Staff and Student Development (FSSD) onsite at government facilities on Joint Base San Antonio–Fort Sam, and Houston, TX, providing education and training services.

This role is contingent upon reward.


Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Support development of curriculum, which must be commensurate with college-level instruction. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) in the field of curriculum development to include expert knowledge of the ISD/SAT Models: ADDIE – Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate. Give guidance in a non-supervisory capacity to METC staff regarding the development of curriculum. Address issues that arise with curriculum development and evaluation.
  • Consult with the FSSD supervisor on all matters relating to providing curriculum development services to METC faculty and staff. This shall include all aspects of the METC curriculum development process to include the organization, administration, review, development, analysis and general effectiveness of the program.
  • Assure that accurate information is disseminated utilizing sound educational techniques. Develop and use follow-up surveys to evaluate work performance. Develop educational procedures and standards and establish performance requirements to be used by FSSD to evaluate instructors’ preparation in the use of proper curriculum development.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to all instructors in the development of new and innovative approaches to instruction to facilitate student learning. Ensure that the technical information provided is disseminated, current and accurate. Give advice, counsel, and suggestions to instructors to improve quality of curriculum delivered to students.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of curriculum. Develop and revise courses to envelop new concepts and technology in curriculum development. Maintain manpower and logistical requirements needed to maintain an adequate training environment, meeting military and accreditation guidelines. Evaluate the attrition rate of METC students and recommend corrective action.
  • Study, analyze and develop methods to improve student outcomes and training problems to include the use of technology. Screen prerequisites for component services to ensure the proper level of academic preparation for the incoming students.
  • Develop the performance standards for curriculum development programs by establishing program goals and standards, which are annually reported to the Instructional Delivery Department (IDD) Associate Dean, with evaluations and recommended solutions to any identified trends and deficiencies.
  • Monitor the latest techniques and strategies related to curriculum development to include the use of technology. Stay abreast of innovations in educational technology, concepts, techniques, and equipment as applied to military service school, civilian educational and industrial communities; by reading literature, attending graduate, postgraduate courses, seminars and educational institutions. Review and evaluate component service policies and procedures in relation to curriculum development and training to develop curriculum that improves student learning. Provide training programs to the teaching staff, regarding curriculum development techniques.
  • Serve as a consultant on training literature and develop the requirements and programs for training staff on the use of appropriate curriculum development techniques, strategies and procedures.
  • Plan and schedule student and staff briefings. Plan and schedule briefings for staff related to curriculum development at the METC. Document the effectiveness of briefings through communication, feedback and surveys.


Required Qualifications:

 

  • US Citizen
  • One of the following:
    • A bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field with 5 years of applicable work experience,
    • Associate degree 7 years of applicable work experience
    • High School diploma 9 years of applicable work experience
