TJFACT is seeking a well-versed Task Lead ( Modernization) to support the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, Website Support Services in Washington, DC !
The Department of State’s (DOS’s) Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) is charged with protecting and assisting United States (U.S.) citizens abroad, issuing passports to U.S. citizens, and issuing immigrant and non-immigrant visas to foreign nationals according to the laws of the U.S. Government.
The Modernization Task Lead shall support CA / CST modernization initiatives of the WSS operational environment to better support the services provided to CA’s customers and maintain alignment with the CA / CST Enterprise Architecture.
This role is contingent upon reward.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and implement emerging technologies, processes, standards or / and tools that will improve WSS websites and web applications.
- Identify and implement Cloud services to include associated design, engineering, implementation, management, and support.
- Research, identify and implement, if approved by CST, new platforms to include mobile technology, and other COTS database products.
- Incorporate, leverage and support both structured and unstructured data.
- Identify and create new data sources with the capability to integrate with CA / CST’s new technology framework.
- Develop and implement metadata management processes and solutions with robust QA capabilities.
- Incorporate automated testing and delivery within the current data architecture and investigate and implement DataOps.
- Conduct on-going research of web application solutions, and new technologies to support migration to new environments.
- Provide integration and transition support for current and future designs, to include streaming analytics, the cloud, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI / CD), containerization, and proofs of concept.
- Identify and develop innovative and efficient methodology techniques for WSS websites and web applications.
- Provide a modernized solution for Mobile devices that increases accessibility and meet 508 compliances.
- Ensure modernization efforts interoperate with and are compatible with CA / CST’s modernized consular systems.
- Coordinate modernization efforts with other CST teams and stakeholders for review.
