About the Role
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical, data management, and PC skills, as well as excellent clinical assessment skills and knowledge of medical standards of care. Experience in dealing with medical staff and medical staff communities, knowledge of third-party payer systems and levels of care, and current working knowledge of discharge planning, utilization management, case management, performance improvement, and managed care reimbursement are highly desirable.
This position requires close communication with the ED Director/coordinator regarding utilization, quality of care, risk, and infection control issues. The successful candidate will also participate in departmental and hospital committees, ad hoc committees, task forces, and work groups, and educate health team colleagues about Case Management, including the role of the Case Manager and the needs of the case-managed population.
