About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse to join our team as a travel nurse in Upland, California. As a MedSurg RN, you will be responsible for conducting patient assessments, prioritizing data collection, and performing ongoing assessments and treatments as ordered by physicians.
Job Description: This is a 13-week contract with 36 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Key responsibilities include providing bedside care, preparing and administering medication, changing dressings, inserting catheters, starting IVs, educating patients on surgical procedures, participating in discharge planning, and initiating patient education plans as prescribed by physicians.
Required Skills and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in medical-surgical nursing principles, a focus on patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you should possess ACLS and BLS certifications, and meet the necessary state licensing requirements.
