Job Description

Note : Applications submitted without a resume and cover letter will not be considered.

Are you ready for the greatest challenge (and greatest opportunity) of your career?

We are looking for a highly-organized, product-obsessed person who LOVES festival culture to join our founding team at Totem.

Totem is an early-stage, high-growth tech startup with a viral debut product, the Totem Compass . Our product empowers people to find their loved ones without relying on traditional technology infrastructure like cell service or WiFi. When we say early-stage, high-growth... We mean it in every sense imaginable.

This job is NOT for everyone. Few are ready for the fast-paced, demanding, all-in atmosphere you will discover at a startup like this. But if you are someone who is craving an epic challenge, one that can change the course of your life forever, and are willing to make the necessary sacrifices... this will be the greatest opportunity of your career.

We are a small team of elite performers with high expectations for ourselves and each other. We have an all-in, whatever-it-takes mentality. Nothing in this company is lukewarm.

Working at a high-growth tech startup like Totem is NOT a typical 9-5 job. To succeed here, you must be willing to live, eat, and breathe Totem alongside the rest of the founding team. Totem Time runs around the clock.

For the right Product Manager, working at Totem is a dream :

  • An internationally-known product with limitless use cases
  • High-profile partnerships across the entertainment & tech industries
  • Extremely diverse user base spanning 40 countries around the globe
  • Tech that makes the world a more beautiful, immersive, and loving place
  • Press coverage from major outlets like UNILAD, Supercar Blondie, DJ Mag, and SXSW

As the Product Manager at Totem, you will play a central role in shaping our product's future, from improving the Totem Compass to creating new product offerings and features. You will have a massive opportunity to influence our product roadmap and product strategy.

You will work closely with :

  • Engineers to bring new products to life
  • Customers to gather feedback and feature ideas
  • Operations to ensure efficient development and rollout
  • Sales to shape product strategy and ensure successful client application at events worldwide
  • We are a close-knit, tight team of 6, soon to grow, and you'll have the chance to help build the future of Totem.

    Responsibilities

  • Serve as the bridge between customers, engineers, and the operations team
  • End-to-end project management of the development cycle
  • Conduct and oversee user testing and research to validate new features and products
  • Own the feedback loop, organize data, and prioritize feature requests for existing products
  • Define product requirements and manage roadmaps
  • Create demo hardware to exhibit product features
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and stakeholders
  • Write and maintain product documentation (data sheets, user guides)
  • Collaborate with marketing to ensure clear messaging and promotion of new product features
  • About Company Culture

At Totem, our biggest priority is our people. We intentionally cultivate a supportive and uplifting environment to ensure that this journey-not just the destination-is a reward in and of itself.

Our team is very receptive to feedback and we value intellectual humility very highly. We expect everyone to be coachable, solution-agnostic, and eager to learn new things .

We work hard at Totem, and we give everything to accomplish our goals as a company. But we also believe in caring for our people. The work is serious, but the energy is playful and grateful.

Despite the pressure and high expectations, we recognize that everyone is human and thus self-care is essential. Ultimately you can only help the team as much as you can help yourself.
