Civil Engineering Internship
TOTH is seeking college interns to join us for the Fall 2024/Spring and Summer 2025 school year in our Springfield, MO office. This is a unique opportunity for highly motivated, innovative, and inspired individuals to work on challenging assignments where contribution, teamwork, and communication are vital to the success of the project. You will gain knowledge of fundamental engineering processes, construction methods and permitting to carry-out the concurrent planning, design, production, and construction of our client projects. These projects typically entail site development, stormwater, water/wastewater, paving, grading and drainage, and other related improvements.
You will be assigned to work on actual client projects alongside a team of experienced engineers. The assignments you receive are project-oriented, meaningful to the department, allows you to take responsibility for a major task, and allows you to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and contribution.
What you'll learn:
- CAD design and drafting
- Site design, stormwater management, grading and drainage, erosion and sediment control, water treatment, traffic analysis, utility design, and more.
- Engineering calculations, data research, and analysis
- How to prepare contract documents utilizing AutoCAD.
- How to coordinate activities with other disciplines, internally and externally.
- You will be able to participate and contribute to design and production meetings.
- Research, evaluate, compile, and prepare material for permit applications.

Qualifications
To be considered for this internship you must be:
- In the process of obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
- Pro-active, enthusiastic, self-starter with a good attitude and a drive to learn
- Excellent with written and verbal communications skills
- Able to work with clients and colleagues at all levels
