TOTH and Associates is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Engineering Technician to join our Civil Engineering team. The ideal candidate will transform data into actionable insights, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute to the strategic goals of our organization.
Summary:
The Engineering Technician supports a wide range of civil engineering projects by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights that drive decision-making and project performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, organize, and analyze large amount of information from various internal and external sources with attention to detail and accuracy
- Perform data extraction, validation, and manipulation to ensure accurate study inputs
- Assist engineers in conducting studies utilizing Excel, industry modeling software, and other tools
- Work with large databases using tools such as Access and Excel
- Support the preparation of presentations and technical documents for clients based on study findings
- Identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis and recommend best practices for data-driven decision-making
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data by conducting regular audits, validation checks, and troubleshooting data-related issues
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related field, is preferred but not required
- Completion of college-level Calculus I & II is required
- 1-2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably within an engineering, construction, or consulting environment, is preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into actionable insights for diverse audiences
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and driven to complete work with minimal supervision
- Initiative to look for new challenges and opportunities
- Organized and detailed oriented
- Ability to learn quickly from reading and oral instructions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
