Kiln Loader
General Job Summary
Position pallet of ware in booth to be loaded in the Kiln. Loads the ware into the Kiln then transport the ware to the Glost Department for Inspection. Must meet safety, quality and production standards as established by TOTO.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Check all Kiln cars and straighten tanks on the car.
- Check beams on the cars for breaks.
- Check setter on cars for aluminum wash.
- Smooth and wash bad areas with a sanding rock.
- Put Kiln pad down on setter as instructed.
- Inspect ware on bottom of tanks, foot of bowls, lavs and urinals for glaze.
- Push Kiln cars into Kiln as scheduled.
- Visually inspect Kiln for problems.
- Load and unload Kiln cars as needed.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
- All job duties must be carried out with safety and quality as a priority.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Requirements
- Must follow TOTO plant safety rules.
- Must be able to read and write. High School Degree or GED required.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs as needed.
- This position requires someone to be present at all times. A relief employee must be present before the job can be left.
Safety Equipment Required
- Safety Gloves must be worn when handling hot ware.
- Dust Mask provided if needed.
- Back or abdominal belt when lifting.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of an indoor Manufacturing facility with limited heat in Winter and not air conditioned in Summer. Moderate noise levels are present. Exposure to dusk and fumes from is present.
