Job Summary :
The Education Services Coordinator provides administrative support to the staff development / education department. Support includes but is not limited to clerical duties and coordination & instruction of classes.
Functions and Duties :
Provides assistance in the daily operations of the Staff Development department.
Helps to develop and teach orientation and onboarding classes to new hires, under the direction of department leaders.
Serves as an instructor, and trainer for SECURE and AHA courses.
Aids in curriculum development as needed.
Responsible for all clerical duties of the department, including filing, maintenance of all schedules and calendars, reporting, employee education files.
Maintenance of TRH’s electronic platform, including support to all end users.
Generates and provides employee transcripts to department leaders as needed related to hospital compliance.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education
Associate’s degree Health Science related field required or equivalent clinical experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
Experience
2-5 years of clinical experience, preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Current BLS Provider Certification.
Skills and Abilities
Experience with electronic learning management systems
Working knowledge of the AHA’s BLS training.
Physical Demands :
Sit or stand for a prolonged period of time
Regularly exposed to body fluids with the risk of bloodborne pathogens or airborne pathogens
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (mask, gown, gloves) when required.
Able to lift 25 pounds from floor to waist using proper body mechanics
Able to transfer or position clients greater than 50 pounds with assistance or assistive devices
Requesting assistance is expected.
Required in positioning and moving clients and medical equipment. Pushing required performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Considerable twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching during many aspects of clients care (bathing, making beds, setting up and monitoring medical equipment).
Able to use one or both hands for grasping, pushing / pulling and fine maculation to perform procedures.
Able to feel vibrations, temperature changes and pulses.
Near acuity : clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; with 20 / 40 vision or better with or without correction.
Far acuity : clarity of vision at 20 feet or more; with 20 / 40 vision or better with or without correction
Able to accurately read labels. Read written communication and monitor medical equipment findings.
Ability to adapt to continually changing environment.
Able to accept constructive criticism and accept own limits.
Emotional and mental stability needed to maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients, families and health team members.
