• Have completion of a Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited school of nursing; • Possess a current RN license in the state of Washington; • Align with Touchmark’s values (excellence, teamwork, hospitality, integrity, and compassion), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends and givers • Enjoy being part of a team, as this person will work closely with a team of nurses to design and implement care plans for each resident • Have a genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment; • Have the ability to plan, direct, and implement resident care program in a geriatric nursing environment; geriatric nursing experience desirable; • Possess a willingness to continue learning and improving skills, as well as a commitment to confidentiality; • Have the ability to evaluate effectiveness in the care plan; • Have the ability to educate, counsel, supervise, evaluate, and discipline resident care team; • Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
• Minimal state survey citations in department; Touchmark standards and regulatory requirements met at all times; • Prompt and thorough resolution of every complaint; • Any change in health status and financial arrangement to be confirmed by POA or appropriate family person within 24 hours of the change (as long as recipient is available).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Completion of a Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Nurse degree from an accredited school of nursing;• Current RN/LPN license in good standing with the State of Washington;• Knowledge and understanding of support needed by people with advancing health care needs, and their families• Must have CPR Certification upon hire or obtained shortly after orientation; CPR certification must remain current during employment• Commitment to confidentiality with respect to resident status and medical records• Must have a comprehensive understanding of state residential care licensure and regulations
Essential Functions:
• Ability to read and write English in order to follow and give oral and written instructions; • Must be able to complete required paperwork and filing with high degree of accuracy; • Ability to observe resident’s behavior and communicate observations in a professional and intelligent manner; • Must be able to explain clearly to potential residents, families and employees the policies and procedures of the facility; • After receiving the appropriate training, must be able to operate standard business equipment such as computers, copiers, fax machines and telephones.IND400
