The general purpose of this position is to provide support and psycho-educational services to families and caregivers, to children in the Infant & Early Childhood Program (IECP) in accordance with the Arizona Practice Model 12 Principles.

  1. Provides Family Support, Parenting Skills and Education, Child Development Psychoeducation, and Coping Skills Coaching to caregivers with children in our birth to 6 programs.
  2. Facilitates and participates in Child and Family Teams (CFT) according to the AZ Practice Model
  3. Conducts intakes, assessments (Observational assessments, CBCL, etc.), reports, and disenrollment as needed and assigned in a timely manner.
  4. Assists with living skills and groups as needed.
  5. Submits appropriate referrals to direct support providers or community agencies identified by CFT as needed.
  6. Completes all required clinical documentation within 72 hours of the service date; updates consumer documentation as appropriate to maintain an accurate Electronic Medical Record
  7. Responds to crisis in a timely manner according to determined procedure.
  8. Develops positive supportive relationships with consumers, family, stakeholders, and other TBH employees.
  9. Maintains caseload of 25-30 clients.
  10. Bills an average of at least $8300.
  11. Provides in-home services when possible and appropriate.

*Performs all other duties as assigned.

Possess and demonstrated the knowledge or skills necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position as expected within the scope of the job duties and the incumbent’s Behavioral Health Provider Designation of:

 Behavioral Health Paraprofessional,
XBehavioral Health Technician
 Behavioral Health Professional

 

  1. Protects client rights as defined in Arizona Administrative Code R9-20-203.
  2. Provides treatment that promotes client dignity, independence, individuality, strengths, privacy, and choice.
  3. Recognizes obvious symptoms of a mental disorder, personality disorder, or substance abuse.
  4. Provides the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and that the staff member is qualified to provide.
  1. Meets the unique needs of Touchstone’s member population served (children and adolescents).
  2. Protects and maintains the confidentiality of client records and information.
  3. Recognizes and respects cultural differences.
  4. Recognize, prevent, manage and respond to a situation in which a member:
    1. may be a danger to self or a danger to others,
    2. behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner,
    3. may be experiencing a crisis situation, or
    4. may be experiencing a medical emergency.
  5. Reads, understands, and implements a member’s treatment plan.
  6. Assists members in accessing community services and resources.
  7. Records and documents client information, activities and progress toward treatment goals and measurable objectives.
  8. Demonstrates ethical behavior, such as by respecting co-workers’ and member boundaries and recognizing the inappropriateness of receiving gratuities from a client.
  9. Identifies types of medications commonly prescribed for mental disorders, personality disorders, and substance abuse and the common side effects and adverse reactions of the medications.
  10. Recognizes and responds to a fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergency.

Demonstrates behavior management skills and provides the supervised activities or behavioral health services identified in the staff member’s job description or the agency’s policy and procedure.
