Certified Mental Health Peer Specialist
Starting Pay: $21.00 per hour
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Two Rivers)
Schedule: 20-24 hours a week, flexible days/shifts
- Typical shifts are 8:00am-4:00pm, 10:00am-6:00pm, or 12:00pm-8:00am.
- Attendance at team meetings on Wednesdays from 2:00pm-4:00pm is required.
Certified Mental Peer Specialist Responsibilities:
- Establish supportive and motivational relationships with residents
- Serve as a role model and coach residents in managing their health symptoms
- Meet with residents individually or in small groups on selected goals
- Coach residents to utilize coping strategies and de-escalate crises
- Administer medications to residents
- Support the cleanliness of common areas
- Ensure residents follow safety guidelines
- Collaborate with other staff members, consultants, interns, and/or volunteers
Certified Peer Specialist Requirements:
- Must qualify as a Mental Health Peer Specialist as defined by Minnesota Department of Human Services
- Certification as a Mental Health Peer Specialist required (or required upon hire)
- Previous experience working in a residential or healthcare setting preferred
