What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full-Time Groundskeeper/Lawn Maintenance Technician position at Touchstone Property Management?
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and experienced Groundskeeper/Lawn Maintenance Technician to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of multiple properties through regular lawn care and grounds maintenance. This role includes mowing, edging, weed control, and general upkeep of exterior areas to ensure that all properties are well-maintained year-round.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lawn Care: Mowing, weed eating, edging, and trimming of grass areas to maintain a neat, professional appearance.
- Weed Control: Spray and manage weeds in lawn areas, garden beds, and along fence lines.
- Shrub and Plant Care: Trim, shape, and maintain shrubs, hedges, and plants; install new plants and mulch as needed.
- Fence Line Maintenance: Remove and control overgrowth along fence lines, keeping them clean and clear.
- Trash Collection: Pick up and properly dispose of trash, debris, and fallen branches on the property grounds.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform monthly preventative maintenance on all lawn care equipment, including but not limited to mowers, weed eaters, and other machinery (changing blades, belts, weed eater string, oil changes, and general upkeep).
- Seasonal Schedule: Maintain properties according to a consistent schedule—2x per month from March through October, and 1x per month from November through February.
- Off-season Maintenance: Complete additional maintenance tasks during the off-season to ensure full-time work, which may include property inspections, minor repairs, and any other general property upkeep duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in groundskeeping or lawn maintenance preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of lawn care techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Comfortable operating equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
