What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Operating Room Nurse for Surgery Center position at Touchton Surgery Center?
Touchton Surgery Center is looking for a Certified PRN Operating Room Nurse who is hard working, reliable, experienced and a team player. Our new, state-of-the-art, ambulatory surgery center is conveniently located in the Southside area and is closed on nights and weekends with no call required. Our specialties include orthopedics, urology, neuro, plastics and spine.
Our Operating Room (OR) staff work together to perform all types of surgical operations utilizing cutting edge technology to provide quality care to our patients. Our OR RNs provide care to our patients and communicate updates to their families before, during and after surgical procedures as needed. OR RNs also assist with instrument/inventory count before/after procedures, circulate and can scrub in emergent situations.
Essential Functions:
- Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs
- Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind
- Assess a patients’ medical status upon admission
- Coordinates and provides patient care as circulator or scrub in the operating room
- Handles emergency situations
- Assist in developing individualized treatment plans
- Comply with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines
- Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs
- Continually expand your knowledge
- Help improve our facility and safety programs
- Follow facility, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures
- Communicate compassionately and effectively
